Finished Slip-On Filters (Telescopes)

Ready-to-use, front-mounted filters sized by outer diameter (OD).

For telescope optical tubes and similar front-barrel devices where a slip-on fit is preferred.

Camera Lens Filters: Threaded or Slip-On

Threaded: match the lens filter-thread size exactly. Slip-on: measure the outside diameter (OD).

Choose the mounting style that suits your lens. Do not use a lens filter-thread size as a slip-on outside-diameter measurement.

Binocular Filter Pairs

Measure both objective barrels and confirm the same outside diameter for a standard matched pair. Contact Seymour Solar before ordering if the diameters differ.

For binocular viewing in white light. Both barrels must be filtered before aiming at the Sun.

Need Help Choosing?

Fit is the decision point. Finished slip-on filters are selected by the outer diameter (OD) at the front of the device. Threaded camera filters instead use the exact lens filter-thread size; never round to another thread size. If you are unsure which measurement to use, start with the sizing guide.
