When used correctly, a solar filter allows you to safely observe the surface of the Sun, including visible sunspots and surface texture. Visibility depends on atmospheric conditions and the optics of your instrument.

Solar filters must be mounted securely on the front of the instrument before aiming at the Sun. Always inspect the filter before each use and discontinue use if the filter is damaged, loose, or compromised in any way.

Never look at the Sun through an optical device without a properly installed solar filter. This product is intended for solar viewing only when used correctly on compatible instruments.

Measure the outside diameter of the tube or barrel where the filter will slip on, using a ruler or calipers. Measure across the widest point for accuracy.

If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next size up. This ensures proper clearance and avoids forcing the filter onto the tube.

This filter fits instruments where the measured outer diameter (OD) matches the selected size range. If you’re unsure about compatibility, review the sizing guide or contact us before ordering.

You’ll be able to safely observe the Sun’s surface, including sunspots and other visible features, depending on conditions and optics.

Eligible unused filters may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery. A 10% restocking fee applies to non-defective returns and exchanges. Original shipping is nonrefundable; orders that received free or discounted shipping have Seymour Solar’s actual outbound shipping cost deducted. Customers are responsible for return shipping.
